Top Track and Field Towns of 2012
Eugene, Oregon- Home of the ducks, gave rise to the infamous distance runner Steve Prefontaine. The legendary competitor served under coach Phil Knight; the founder of Nike. The Prefontaine Classic is one of the biggest meets in the US and is hosted annualy at the Eugene track. Oregon is also hosting the 2012 US olympic trials for Track and Field.
Pocatello, Idaho- High in the Rocky Mountains and home to Idaho State University, Pocatello holds the Simplot Games, the biggest high school indoor meet in the Country. The historic meet is run inside what is also the football stadium on a large wooden track.
Albuquerque, New Mexico- Home of the 2012 US National Indoor Track and Field meet. Many of the best athletes from around the Country qualify to compete in this meet. Anyone from David Oliver to Lolo Jones will be there participating.
